HOW MANY BUNDLES DO I NEED?

Our hair comes with at 3.5 oz of hair per bundle. The suggested number of bundles needed for a sew-in with natural hair out:
10”-14” 2+ bundles | 16”-20” 3+ bundles | 22-30” and above 4+ bundles

WHAT LENGTHS SHOULD I ORDER?

The tighter the curl the shorter the hair. Everyone’s head size, neck length, and height is different so it is best to measure the length of your natural hair before to determine which lengths you may want/need. Kinky curl shrinkage is normally 4 to 5 inches. our listed hair lengths are the lengths once the hair is in it’s stretched or flat ironed state. We sell hair based off of the actual length of the hair, and not the shrinkage.

WHAT PRODUCTS SHOULD I USE?

WATER IS A CURL'S BEST FRIEND. Our hair requires light to very little styling products. The use of heavy oils, and heavy styling products isn't necessary. When purchasing hair products, choose salon quality products (mousse, creams, jellies, leave in conditioners) that are specifically formulated for textured hair, as they will help keep the extensions soft and manageable. The best products for curlier textures are applied while the hair is wet. Heavy oils and cheap products can cause tangling and dryness.

DO I HAVE TO SEAL THE WEFTS?

Our wefts already come sealed but may need a little extra care over time. Feel free to seal your wefts before you install your extensions or during maintenance when removed. We recommend using Dritz Fray Check to seal wefts. It can be purchased on Amazon and other similar online retailers.

WHAT ABOUT NIGHT TIME CARE?

Before going to bed, ALWAYS make sure your extensions are detangled, especially the nape at the neck, for they require extra attention to avoid tangles with textured hair. Separate the hair into sections and secure the hair according to your preference: flexi-rods, rollers, twists, braids or even a loose ponytail will do!

HOW DO I WASH MY EXTENSIONS?

Over time, extensions will accumulate residue and product buildup just like your natural hair. To keep the extensions in optimal condition, we recommend washing with care. The extensions should be washed in a tub or sink or they can also be washed in the shower while sewn into your natural hair!

1.Before washing, thoroughly detangle the extensions from the bottom up, track by track with a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush to ensure there are no tangles.

2.Carefully rinse extensions with warm water.

3.Place a small amount of sulfate free shampoo in the palm of your hand. Use sulfate/clarifying shampoos sparingly and only to remove all dirt, buildup and products from the hair. Strong shampoos with sulfates can dry out the hair.

4.Gently lather the shampoo into the hair ensuring you work with one section at a time. Do not twist, rub or scrub the hair. Be gentle! The shampoo should be applied the hair in a downwards motion from the top of the extensions, down to the ends.

5.After lathering, rinse the hair thoroughly under lukewarm water until all shampoo is completely removed.

6.Apply shampoo again if needed, follow the same steps above and rinse.

7.Apply conditioner, detangle with a wide tooth comb while conditioner is on the hair, follow manufacturers instructions, rinse.

After your extensions have been thoroughly washed and conditioned, apply desired styling products (especially recommended for curly textures) and air-dry. We also recommend the use of a nourishing treatment or deep conditioner every month or so. This will ensure your hair extensions remain in optimal condition.

CAN I STRAIGHTEN MY EXTENSIONS?

Though our extensions were made to be rocked in its textured state, you can straighten, curl and style the hair extensions just as you would your own hair. Applying excessive heat to your hair extensions may potentially affect the texture or damage it. Treat your extensions with the same care as you would your natural hair.

CAN HOUSE OF TEXTURES EXTENSIONS BE COLORED?

Our hair can be bleached or dyed to any color. We always recommend coloring hair prior to installation. Please note that bleaching hair or using color with harsh chemicals in it can weaken the shaft or loosen the curl. Hair that has been colored will need a little extra love and attention when maintaining it. If you do wish to color the hair, we recommend having your hair extensions professionally colored by a licensed hairstylist who has experience with color. Test a small part of the extensions first to make sure you obtain your desired color results. Always keep in mind that applying chemicals and excessive heat to your hair extensions may potentially affect the texture or damage it just like your own hair.

CAN I SWIM WITH HOUSE OF TEXTURES EXTENSIONS?

Yes. Our extensions can endure chlorine and salt water (believe us, it's been tried and tested). When swimming with your hair extensions, ensure your hair is twisted, braided or tied into a simple ponytail. Do not put the hair extensions in a bun as this can cause tangling. After swimming, cleanse the hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove buildup, salt, chlorine and impurities, then use a moisturizing shampoo and deep condition.

HOW LONG WILL MY EXTENSIONS LAST?

Our hair has no expiration date. The expectant life of the hair is dependent on the care and daily routine you provide to your extensions. Your extensions will last for years if you abide by the following rule. "Take care of your hair and your hair will take care of you."
